Frost protection spray wins Green Thumb Award

FreezePruf from Liquid Fence Company cited by Mailorder Gardening Association

FreezePruf, the new frost protection spray for plants from The Liquid Fence Company, won a 2010 MGA Green Thumb Award.

The announcement was made at the recent MGA Winter Conference in Baltimore where FreezePruf took top honors in the Tools, Supplies and Accessories division for outstanding new garden product available by mail or online.

“A panel of independent garden communicators thought FreezePruf was one of the most innovative and unique garden products for 2010,” says Randy Schultz, of the Mailorder Garden Association.

Developed by botanists, the eco-safe spray protects ornamentals, fruit and vegetables from frost and freeze damage. It improves a plant’s natural cold tolerance from 2 to 9 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the variety of plant, helping to extend its growing season by a couple of weeks in early spring and/or late fall.

The Green Thumb is the second award FreezePruf has received. It also won a “Best in Show” honor at the 2009 IGC Show. The Liquid Fence Company is no stranger to the Green Thumb, winning two of the coveted product awards in 2009 for their Liquid Net for Pets and Liquid Fence Mole Repellent Worms.

“We’re honored to be awarded the 2010 MGA Green Thumb Awards for FreezePruf,” says Edward Abraham, president of The Liquid Fence Company. “It’s always extremely gratifying to receive this kind of influential industry recognition.”

The winning products were selected based on uniqueness, technological innovation, ability to solve a gardening problem or provide a gardening opportunity, and potential appeal to gardeners.
