WARWICK, R.I. -- Part of the garden center roof at the Lowe's store on Quaker Lane suffered a partial collapse around midnight Saturday.
The store was closed at the time and no one was injured, according to company spokesman Steve Salazar. The cause of the collapse is unknown but a city building inspector will examine the roof Sunday.
Salazar said a 20-foot by 60-foot portion of the roof collapsed but the rest of the store remains untouched. The store opened as normal Sunday morning.
"Much of the canopy is still there," he said.
This is the third roof collapse at New England Lowe's garden centers in a week's period. Click here to read about the roof collapse in Seekonk, Mass. and here for Framingham, Mass.
