This spring, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley signed SB 920, which establishes a task force to study statewide gypsy moth infestation. The task force will report its findings and recommendations to the governor and the Maryland General Assembly on or before Aug. 31, 2009. Gov. O’Malley’s budget also provides approximately $4.1 million, including local and federal contributions, to cover this year’s gypsy moth suppression program.
