Nicholas Staddon, director of new plants at Monrovia, said the grower has “greatly expanded its line of edibles, including an array of stone-fruit trees, wine grapes and bramble fruits." Monrovia also is introducing a line of succulents, including cold hardy succulents like sedum, sempervivum and delosperma; and some tender succulents.
New plants include:
* Blue Balloon bluebeard (Caryopteris x clandonensis), hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones 6-9
* Angel Red pomegranate (Punica granatum), Zones 7-11
* Paeonia (Itoh) ‘Smith Opus 2,’ Zones 3 – 8
* Cathedral Gem sausage vine (Holboellia coriacea) from the Dan Hinkley Collection, Zones 6 – 10.
