Nashville Lawn & Garden Show looks to next generation

Show organizers hope to get families and children of attendees involved in the hobby of gardening.

From the The Tennessean:

Nashville garden designer Paula Peace knows the joy of being outdoors and in a garden with kids.

“I have one grandson, he’s 2½, and he absolutely loves being outside,” Peace says, who is one of the organizers of the annual Nashville Lawn & Garden Show, which opens March 2 at the Fairgrounds Nashville. “It’s not necessarily gardening yet, but when I take him out, say, to Radnor Lake to walk, he can’t wait to get out of the car.”

Children are naturally drawn to the outdoors, Peace believes. Planners of the four-day garden event see this affinity as a key component in this year’s theme, “Plant a Forest: Gardening for the Future.”
