Problem: Growers have to look for plant details and growing tips in several places.
Solution: The Big Green Book, a comprehensive growing and planning guide for Northwest Horticulture’s crops.
Details: This 136-page guide was designed to be more than a catalog. Besides full-color images and descriptions, the Big Green Book also provides a planning matrix, which helps growers schedule, order, plant and finish crops. The book outlines shipping methods and explains Northwest’s new pallet shipper delivery option.
The book’s selection guide helps growers choose varieties and colors that sell and perform best in their location. It explains the grower’s New Look picture tag program, which provides consumers with best uses for a plant, required growing conditions, flower time and planting instructions.
Northwest Horticulture manages four programs -- perennials, ornamental grasses, landscape roses and groundcovers. It sells cuttings, plugs and field-grown liners.
Growers will turn to the Big Green Book throughout the year “to help clarify, plan and schedule their crops,” said Richard Gigot, director of sales and marketing at Northwest Horticulture. “The Big Green Book is one more way in which we demonstrate our commitment to providing information our customers need to have a competitive edge.”
