If that's so, members of the White Plains Beautification Foundation can't be blamed if they've shed a few tears in recent weeks, as they consider installing security cameras to protect some of the more than 60 public gardens they maintain from tree-takers and bloom burglars.
In the past two months, at least six gardens have been hit in different parts of the city, with thousands of dollars worth of fresh plantings stolen.
