Fire breaks out at Pleasant View Gardens’ greenhouse

The company is reporting minimal damage

Around 3 a.m. Jan. 21, a fire broke out at Pleasant View Gardens in Loudon, N.H. The fire began in the company’s IBG/Nexus greenhouse, but was quickly contained. The 1-acre range that was damaged accounts for less than a tenth of Pleasant View's total production.

“There was minimal damage to crops at Pleasant View because the IBG/Nexus was one of the last ranges to be utilized for the spring season,” said Carol Huntington, the company’s marketing manager, in a statement.

In a statment issued today, Pleasant View said it was able to salvage approximately 25 percent of the production space and will have it up and running within a couple of weeks.

"It's business as usual; in fact we continue to take orders," said Henry Huntington, president of Pleasant View Gardens. "With everything going on in the world, we're blessed that this is just plants. As much of a disaster as this is, no one was hurt, and the damage was really minimal."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Pleasant View is currently looking at options to rebuild and plans to have new production in place by April 1.

Pleasant View Gardens is one of the founders of the Proven Winners brand and a major supplier of Proven Winners’ liners.
