Couldn’t get to Pack Trials? Get the inside track on new varieties and trends at Pleasant View Gardens’ Open Garden Day Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We pack tons of ideas into one day at both the Loudon and Pembroke locations,” said Carol Huntington, Pleasant View’s marketing manager. “So many people can’t get to Pack Trials, so with Open Garden Day, we try to bring some of that message back at a time when more people can attend.”
This is a chance to explore the Display Gardens and check out more than 500 Proven Winners and Proven Selections varieties’ performance, bloom, habit and more, whether in ground or in containers.
Among the hot new ideas you’ll see at Open Garden Day: three ways to organize your garden center—by color, by interest or by need. Supporting POP coordinates colors like purple, blue or red; pushes plants chosen for interests like butterfly or hummingbird gardening; or promotes groups by need, such as deer resistant, sun or shade plants. Recipes for different retail vignettes complete the picture.
While you’re there, stop in and enjoy a slate of speakers in peer-to-peer sessions on gardener idea book mailings, smile campaigns, creating a store within a store, iGarden certification and more. Get info you can put to work in your business at displays including fertilizer rates, tag exchanges, new combination ideas, matching liner forms to production needs and more. Talk with Pleasant View and Proven Winners staff at your own pace, and enjoy the open grill all day.
At Pembroke, take a guided tour of the facility, and investigate the biomass burner. Bring a truck, and load up on the hottest summer and fall perennials at The Yard, Pleasant View’s ever-ready pick-up area.
Pleasant View’s Open Garden Day is open to anyone in the industry. There’s lots to see at both the Loudon and Pembroke, N. H., locations.
Online preregistration is required by July 30. To sign up, visit www.pwpvg.com. For more information, call Pleasant View Gardens at 603-435-8361.
