Pollinator Week has grown into an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats, and beetles, and kicks of June 16 this year. The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture signs a proclamation every year, commemorating the event.
Pollinator Week is a week to get the importance of pollinators’ message out to as many people as possible. Garden centers can take advantage of this opportunity to educate customers about how to attract these vital insects to their yards and offer other ways they can contribute. The businesses can also add their events to the Pollinator Week website, which will be featured on a map with other events taking place around the world.
