Retailers can customize the 2011 Proven Winner’s Gardener’s Idea Book with a line of copy or a logo and photos. The books are then mailed directly to the garden center’s contact list, driving customers to the store for their spring plant needs.
“The price of the books is pretty fair and they are a great addition to our container seminars,” said Kate Terrell with Wallace’s Garden Center in Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa. Customers often shop with the books in-hand, selecting plants and containers as shown in the recipes.
The customized mailing program works like this: Proven Winners pays for printing the Gardener’s Idea Books, addresses them and includes the garden center’s promotional message. Retailers provide an Excel file with addresses for a minimum of 2,500 customers and pay postage costs, and necessary personalization costs if the entire back cover is customized.
Delivery of 2,500 copies in the U.S.is $1,250. Delivery of 2,500 copies in Canada has a postage fee of $4375. Proven Winners will not retain the customer list nor will the lists be used for any purpose other than mailing the Gardener’s Idea Books to customers.
