Washington garden center adds 10,000 square-foot greenhouse, more...

Revell Hardware in Clinton will be adding a garden center to its store, according to ClintonNews.com. This new addition will offer a variety of plants and gardening-related merchandise.

Nevada
Star Nursery has removed chain-link fences it installed in October around six of its eight valley locations, ReviewJournal.com reported. The barriers were installed to discourage day laborers from congregating on the properties. The nurseries were cited by the city and county for putting up the temporary fences without a permit. The owner was given until Jan. 6 to either remove them or apply for a permit for permanent fencing. That fencing would cost at least $200,000.

Texas
Northside Ranch Pet and Garden Center in Victoria is mourning the loss of owner Mildred Gillar, according to Victoria Advocate. She owned several businesses, including the pet and garden center, Victoria Ag and Ranch and Goliad Feed Co.

Washington
Beaver Bark Gift & Garden Center in Richmond is expanding, Journal of Business reported. The Bobbetts, who own the store, are adding a 10,000-sq.-ft. greenhouse on site and plan to be growing inside it by February. The greenhouse will allow the Bobbetts to grow their own nursery plants and starts, rather than shipping them in from Portland or Seattle.
