Beaumont Garden Center in Beaumont is ready to serve customers looking for Christmas trees and year-round garden staples, according to a business spotlight in the Record Gazette. Beaumont Garden Center has been around since 1974, and has been owned by the Bingham family since 1986.
Nebraska
Deputies are investigating the Thanksgiving weekend burglary of a Campbell's Nursery storage building in Lincoln, JournalStar.com reported. A pickup truck, a digital camera and cash were reported missing. The pickup, a 1999 Chevy Silverado owned by the nursery, was found undamaged near the nursery, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff's Office report.
Nevada
Greenhouse Garden Center in Carson City will present a two-day, five session design workshop in February. Cost of the workshop is $100 and includes lunches. Participants will also receive 20 percent off any plants purchased on one of the workshop dates.
Ohio
Constantine’s Garden Center in Richfield continues to thrive, according to Akron.com. Known now for beautiful hanging baskets, thriving bedding plants and vegetables and the best perennials in the area, Constantine’s is a retail grower that produces 80 percent of the plants it sells.
Texas
A Cornelius Nurseries’ location in Houston that was destroyed in a fire has reopened, MyFoxHouston reported. The store on Voss Road was destroyed by fire in July 2008. Arson was to blame. Just last month, another Cornelius nursery on FM 1960 also burned to the ground. The cause in that fire was ruled electrical. “It's been a tough time, the last two years have been tough on us,” said general manager Eddie Russell.
Wisconsin
Mark Birmingham took over as CEO of Stein Gardens & Gifts in Milwaukee, JSOnline reported. Stein is a 60-year-old family-owned retailer, specializing in lawn and garden supplies as well as decorative accessories. Birmingham takes over chief executive duties from Jack Stein, son of the founder, who remains involved as chairman of the board.
