Retailers are set to have a strong 2015, with sales expected to rise 4.1 percent, according to an industry forecast released Thursday that predicts that consumers will grow more confident as the economic recovery picks up steam this year.
The predicted increase would be the largest sales uptick since 2011 and would be an improvement over the 3.5 sales increase the National Retail Federation says the industry recorded in 2014.

“Already facing far fewer obstacles than this time last year in terms of growth opportunities, retailers are optimistic about the potential that exists for healthy growth in retail sales and consumer engagement in 2015,” NRF chief executive Matthew Shay said in a statement.
