From the Falls Church News-Press:
Robert Paul “Bob” Warhurst, 76, co-founder of Merrifield Garden Center, passed away at his home in Fairfax, Va., after a long battle with cancer. On the last full day of his life, Warhurst was surrounded by family and friends before he passed peacefully early the next morning at the end of April under the care of Hospice.
Warhurst started Merrifield Garden Center, a large garden center, nursery and landscaping company with three locations in Northern Virginia, in 1971 with his good friend and neighbor Buddy Williams.
