Another Sacramento, Calif. nursery is closing, according to a report in The Sacramento Bee. Flora Tropicana, the state's largest water-garden nursery, is leaving Elk Grove after losing its lease on Grant Line Road.
"We're heart-broken," said co-owner Wendy Tjaden. "It's been so difficult. People assume that it's the economy, but we survived the economy. This place has been our pride and joy. We hung on - barely - but we did. Then, this happened."
The 100-acre parcel that includes the nursery was foreclosed Dec. 19. In the fallout, Flora Tropicana was forced to find a new home.
