Sakata Seed America has announced the addition of Michelle Miller, a horticulture and substrate industry veteran, to the company’s ornamental group. With over 30 years of experience in the wholesale nursery industry, Miller brings a robust background of greenhouse production, plant health & nutrition, soilless media formulations and technical sales experience to her new role of key account manager – West Coast for Sakata.
Miller’s expansive knowledge of greenhouse production and growing culture is sure to be an asset to Sakata’s ornamental team. In addition to a thorough understanding of the ornamental industry, Miller’s resume boasts tenure at companies including Agromillora, Sierra Gold Nurseries and Sun Gro Horticulture, making her an expert in the substrate and growing media space bringing additional skill and talent to Sakata’s recent venture into the premium Baltic substrate business, Sakata Solutions.

Sakata has a great reputation and continues to expand its portfolio to include a range of growing solutions. I believe my background will allow me to bring a special energy and ability to the role. Effective June 22, Miller will be responsible for all ornamental key account sales and management for the West Coast territory. She will also provide technical knowledge and support for the Sakata Solutions premium Baltic substrate brand and growing customer base.

In addition to her industry tenure, Miller holds a MS in Horticulture from Oregon State University and current credentials as both an International Certified Crop Advisor and a California Pesticide Crop Advisor.
