The 32nd annual Seed Savers Exchange Conference & Campout is scheduled for July 20 through 22 at Heritage Farm near Decorah, Iowa. Seed Savers Exchange is an organization working to preserve heirloom varieties.
There will be over 25 workshops in 4 tracks from seed-to-seed to community gardening projects. Plus, there will be lots of fun events like the seed swap and barn dance, and a special Dig and Discover conference for those 6 to 14.
This year’s main speakers are:
- Frances Moore Lappe, co-founder of the Small Planet Fund, “Changing the Way We Think, to Create the World We Want.”
- Dr. John Navazio, senior scientist at the Organic Seed Alliance, “Debunking the Hybrid Myth.”
- Ken Greene, cofounder of Hudson Valley Seed Library, will speak on “The Art of Heirlooms.”
- Listed member Jon Thurston, community seed projects
