Albert “Boo” Frankenbach of Southhampton, N.Y., who began Southampton Nursery and Garden Center alongside his wife, passed away June 18. He was 87 and had dementia.
He was born May 16, 1930, to Helen Haap Frankenbach, a kindergarten teacher, and Henry Grover Frankenbach, who worked in the family business that combines a nursery, flower shop and hardware store, according to www.27east.com.
He and his wife, Ann Herbert, had three children, Lynn Goleski, Carol Pike and Jim Frankenbach. Though the garden center portion of Southampton Nursery and Garden Center closed in 1986, Jim Frankenbach continues to run the landscape division alongside his son, Jake.
