Terra Nova Nurseries today announced its involvement in Beijing Florascape Co.’s online broadcast that took place April 25, 2020, during the digital BJFC Spring Flower Show. Ken Brown, managing owner of Terra Nova, and Kevin Chen, Asia sales representative for Terra Nova, facilitated an alliance between ThinkPlants and BJFC to organize a broadcast discussion about perennials, as part of BJFC’s online broadcasting program called “The Beauty of Perennials.”
Chen coordinated the broadcast by exchanging and translating messages, ideas, questions, and documents with Joey Wiseman, head of ThinkPlants, and representatives of BJFC. He facilitated before and during the broadcast by translating between English and Chinese.
The topic of the hourlong broadcast was “Insights regarding the development of the perennial industry for China,” provided by United States and European Union peers. The concept involved information-sharing across international peer businesses and organizations to encourage mutually beneficial alliances, sales and marketing.
Wiseman, who discussed the North American perennial market, and Aoshuang Chen, a translator and freelancer who discussed the European perennial market, were the first guests of the broadcasted program.
BJFC notated 1,800 live viewers of the broadcast, and an additional 1,800 viewers of the recording during the two weeks following the broadcast.
A second online broadcast slated to feature Ken Brown, managing owner of Terra Nova; Chuck Pavlich, director of new product development for Terra Nova; and Yu Xuebin, chairman of BJFC, is currently being planned.
