The UCan Watering Can has the Good Housekeeping seal of approval -- literally.
In a report earlier this summer on the famed magazine's website, the big blue irrigation instrument was called "The Perfect Watering Can." Here are highlights from the "report card" as noted by product evaluator Kathleen Huddy:
A good, functional watering can is important to me because there are some flowerbeds in my garden that I just can’t reach with a hose. Plus, I have some delicate plants that can’t stand the pressure from a hose.
To nurture my plants, I add my own formula of organic fertilizer to the water in the can. But I never seem to be able to remember to take out the can and the fertilizer at the same time. Problem solved: The Ucan Watering System ($29.95) has a container on top that can be used to store either wet or dry fertilizer so it’s always right there when you’re ready to water. And hands together for my favorite part — it comes with a measuring spoon so you don’t have guesstimate how much fertilizer to mix in.
The main opening of the Ucan is large, so it’s easy to fill the lightweight but sturdy recycled plastic can. The “sprinkler” attachment works great, but if you want a steady stream, you can remove it and store it on the can itself right below the spout. There’s even a holder for your gardening gloves!
All in all, a truly functional watering can!
