A new business is beginning to bloom in downtown Greensboro .
"The Urban Gardener” had a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday. The open air garden center is on the south-end near the railyard, off of South Elm Street and Lewis Street. The small retailer is on a plot of land that was dirt less than a year a go.
“Railyard is the new upcoming downtown destination and I wanted to jump on that and I feel like it’s going to keep growing down here,”said the owner, Jenny Neal. “There are no other garden centers downtown.”
Neal said this business offers people another shopping experience.
"They're already down here shopping for antiques and art, they come down for First Friday and things like that, so they might as well buy their plants down here too and their garden accessories.”
The Urban Gardener is open everyday except Monday. It’s across from Gibb’s Hundred Brewing Company.
