VanderSalm’s-Flipse Flowershop & Garden Center in Kalamazoo, Mich., is celebrating 100 years of business, MLive.com reported.
The greenhouses, flower shop and garden center has a 3,000-square-foot retail store and office building, an 1,800-square-foot conservatory and 30,000 square-feet of greenhouses.
Like most businesses, Ned VanderSalm, 38, said they’ve “taken a hit” over the past two years, with business down by as much as 10 percent. But he said he’s optimistic that things are turning around, with spring sales already quite brisk.
“Early warm weather has people in the mood,” John said
