The Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association has two education events set for September:
• Nursery and Landscape Field Day & Seminars, Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the Hampton Roads Agricultural Research & Extension Center (HRAREC), Virginia Beach
• The VNLA Annual Summer Tour will feature ‘behind the scenes” garden tours of the Virginia Zoo and Gardens at Norfolk and the Norfolk Botanical Garden on Thursday Sept. 9.
“Meeting Nursery & Landscape Green Survival Challenges in Today’s Environment” is Theme for Field Day 2010.
In consideration of the continuing economic climate, educational seminars have been combined with the Field Day as a one-day event this year, instead of a 2-day event.
The Field Day 2010 features national recognized nursery and landscape efficiency and profitability expert, Dwight Hughes, as well as other activities include demonstrations, speakers, tours, a plant ID challenge, a silent auction, competitions, research and educational displays, and exhibits of new equipment, products and services. The speaker program is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition to the program, there will be educational exhibits and demonstrations to visit and lunch is included.
The Field Day will conclude with a “Social Reception” at Chicks Oyster Bar, hosted by the Hampton Roads Nursery & Landscape Association.
