Young gardener shares harvests with those facing food insecurity, Points of Light

Te’Lario Watkins started Tiger Mushroom Farms and The Garden Club Project, with community gardens that have produced more than 2,000 pounds of produce serving hundreds of families through local food pantries. Te’Lario also published a children’s book about gardening and his experiences, "Te’Lario's Amazing Mushroom Farm," to teach kids to be determined and kind. “I’m hoping to create a place where there are fewer food deserts. I’m going to be an advocate for food justice, and I want people in and around my community to be able to get fresh produce easily and safely,” the young entrepreneur says.
