Wilson’s Garden Center in Newark, N.J. opened its expanded facility April 10, NewarkAdvocate.com reported.
The new facility will include more convenient parking, a pick-up area in front, covered walkways in the nursery area and almost 20,000 square feet of new greenhouse/garden center space.
“We will be open year-round now, so we’re excited about that,” owner Ned Wilson said. “This gives us an opportunity to have a real nice facility for our customers.
The project included replacing seven connected greenhouses with five larger and better ventilated ones. The new greenhouses have glass walls and polycarbonate roofs, replacing 14,700 square feet of greenhouses with polyethylene all around.
The entire 60,000-square-foot retail area includes about 20,000 square feet that will remain as it was and about 20,000 square feet outside.
