The Agrotas basket liner fabric can be cut to shape and used to line the base of potted plants and hanging baskets, and can even be used in vertical gardens. It works by absorbing and holding the necessary quantity of water, which then provides an optimum moisture environment for plant growth. Using this technology can decrease overall water usage by up to 50 percent over the growing season and significantly reduces re-watering frequency. Fertilizer can also be added to the water to aid the control of dosage levels. The baskets use Technical Absorbents Ltd.'s Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) technology, designed to achieve highly controlled delivery of water to root systems, whilst significantly reducing evaporative loss and water seepage.
