Aoyu Edamame

A soybean eaten fresh as a snack. The green pods, normally containing three beans, are steamed and the beans are shelled. This variety was originally brought to the U.S. from Hokkaido, Japan, in 1930. The edamame tastes sweet and buttery but is a very healthy snack. Produces well even in cool summers. Packets come with 50 seeds and plant takes 65 to 75 days to produce.
