Begonia T Rex 'First Blush,' part of Terra Nova Nurseries’ new Begonia T Rex series, produces silvery-lavender leaves that are lightly kissed with raspberry. This series remains evergreen down to 38 degrees Fahrenheit, is hardy in zones 10 to 11 and is heat- and humidity-tolerant. This new species of begonia was bred to look like Rexes, but have a distinctive feel and grow differently. ‘First Blush’ works as a mixed container plant and can be used in shade borders in warmer seasons. The plants have an upright habit, and grow 14 to 16 inches wide, 14 to 16 inches tall and have a 12 inch flower height.
