Emsa Smart Planter

Made of sturdy plastic, the Emsa Smart Planter features an interlocking top and base. The top, which has drainage holes on the bottom, serves as a cachepot for a smaller pot. It is 5.5 inches in diameter and 7.5 inches high. The top fits into the base, which has an opening for adding water. A little flower that floats on the surface of the water is visible through the opening. When the water level is low, the flower drops: just water the flower through the opening to make it rise again. There is no need to disassemble the planter to add water. The planter comes with a 100 percent cotton wick and a spiral pin for inserting and positioning the dampened wick in the soil. The wick extends into the base, where it will naturally draw up water as needed to keep the roots comfortably moistened. Because the Smart Planter maintains a reservoir of water in the bottom, plants can be watered less often. Available in green, pink or white, the planter has a suggested retail price of $16.95.
